AUSTRAC REGULATORY REPORTING - SIMPLIFIED!
Financial Institutions in Australia are required to report International Funds Transfer Instructions(IFTI’s) to AUSTRAC under the Financial Transaction Reports Act (FTR Act) in existence with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Act (AML/CTF Act). Under the AML/CTF Act, if a reporting entity sends or receives an instruction to or from a foreign country, to transfer money or property, that entity must submit an IFTI report. A reporting entity should also report transfers of physical currency of A$10,000 or more (or the foreign currency equivalent) via a designated service (receiving or paying) through a TTR.
